Did you know that Georgia’s public libraries are powerful economic engines? A recent study shows that for every $1 invested in our 408 public libraries, Georgians receive about $3.75 in return through services and economic impact.

These libraries generate nearly $1 billion in value each year, combining the worth of digital resources, meeting spaces, programs, and more. Much of that impact comes from access to electronic resources—like e-books and Wi-Fi—and the circulation of books, music, and videos.

What this means for our community is huge: thanks to our libraries, families connect over books, students study with confidence, job seekers build new paths, and neighbors come together in shared space. These institutions truly multiply the value of every dollar contributed, whether from public funds or private support.
