The theme for National Library Week 2024 is “Ready, Set, Library,” because in our always-online world, libraries give us a green light to something truly special: a place to connect with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters most.

This year, National Library Week is April 7 – 13. Looking for ways to engage? Here are some ideas:

  • Visit your library! Go to your local branch to use some of the resources and check out a book. If you can’t get into a branch location, take the opportunity to utilize digital resources.
  • Attend an event. Check out the full roster of events offered for National Library Week by the Fulton County Library System here
  • Be an advocate. Encourage your friends and family to get their library card.
  • Express gratitude. National Library Workers Day is Tuesday, April 9. Write a thank you note to your local library workers or drop by to say “thank you!”
  • Use your voice. Thursday, April 11 is Take Action for Libraries Day, a day to rally around support for our libraries. Contact your local elected officials and tell them why the library matters to you.
  • Make a gift. Library Giving Day is Tuesday, April 3. Your gift will be used to support programming and innovation at the Fulton County Library System. Every gift matters! Give here.
